GXP Brakes shot at 16,000 miles UPDATE
I finally got my rotors in today and after work I took the GXP to the craft shop. While I replaced my brakes I replaced my head lights too. After one year and 16K miles, the headlights were beat and worn just like the brakes.
The new stuff
Old headlight in front, new in back
Bombed out 16K brakes
As you can see the rotor is destroyed. The lines you see on the bad rotor are EASILY felt.
Pad Comparison
All clean and new!
Took the opportunity to degrease the insides of my front wheel and get rid of all the brake dust!
THE NEW BRAKES FEEL GREAT. Just like new. Plus no squeaking!!!

Nope! I tried Maguire's PlastiX several times before replacing them. In fact it made the abrasions on the top worse. Replacing them was the last option.

Nice job! please let us know how the Akebono`s are after some use.
Did you power flush your brakes after the install?
Here is a link to help for your lights and, well take a look:

thanks for the link. I definitely need those film covers. I did not power flush the brakes. I bled them slightly while compressing the caliper pistons and then topped off the reservoir. The fluid look very clean and wasn't discolored.
