Default Borla xr-1's on TSP true duals...?

Ok this isn't another "how will it sound" thread. I have already made up my mind that I want 3" in 3" out borla xr-1's. My question is...has anyone done this before? I will just be taking off the dynomax bullets that come with the TSP true dual kit. Does anyone know the size difference between the two? I want it to be as painless as possible swap LOL. I need to know if the xr-1 is the same length and diameter as the dynomax...thanks!

you don't want this set bud. They have been cut and welded to fit over kooks 3.5" collectors!

There was a time I planned to do this exact setup. I'm not sure if it will work but I think it will. Xr1's are still pretty small. Thing that turned me off was a I went to youtube and watched a ton of vids with vettes with LT's catless and Xr1's. I figured it would be the closest match with an Fbody with TD's. It was way to loud and noisy for my taste and my car has a Loud Mount 1. If you haven't really checked into it I would.

haha you are right I wouldnt, but back on topic...I think you can definitely make it work. I saw someone at the lsx shootout with an xr1 dumped off the y and it wasnt too loud and sounded real good.

I'm just afraid that they will hit on the torque arm or driveshaft...the bullets that are on there now are tight. And they are round, and I know the XR-1s are oval. It would be nice to see some pics of the exact same set-up!

You can get round XR-1's as well... Im running part# 40085 on my duals setup. 15" length, 3" in, 3" out, overall diameter 5". Not sure on the sizes of the Dynomax bullets TSP uses.

If you already have the TSP system, maybe it could be ran out the back w/ the XR1's mounted on either side of the gas tank? Similar to my setup?

Theres a soundclip down in my sig, if you wanna hear it...

I can't even crank up my car right now "9:42 PM" cause it'll set off car alarms and wake the neighbors kids

Screw that, thats the best part about it, nothing has made me smile wider than when I cranked my car up with open headers If I could I would drive around like that everyday, I might go deaf but Id be happy doing it

Borla #40085 is a 3" In/out muffler with a 5" body diameter. The dynomax bullets are 3.5" body diameter and Magnaflow bullets are 4" body diameter. The Borla #40085 is by far my favorite muffler to use in a true dual setup, its mellow at cruise/idle with one of the deepest tones. Stays very deep even in the high revs.

Not sure how they would fit on the TSP duals though, it would be tight to get a 5" muffler under the car and still have decent clearance. I used to sell them to Loudmouth guys and they would have to dent the floorplan to get just one to fit.
