Default 228R and stock stall

Quick question, I have a comp 228/228 112 cam and I really want to put it in, problem is I am looking at a couple months on the factory stall since my wife caught the kitchen on fire. Will it even be driveable? I Put about 60 miles a day on it and 55 are highway, if it wont even run worth a **** i wont do it but with everything sitting there it is hard to not! It will be tuned my buddie owns a speed shop, and I am a heavy line tech so the labor is free. SEARCH IS DOWN before I get flamed for not searching

not racing just want more POWER!! I am looking at the Circle D Trailblazer converters now, looks like what I need and they wont break the bank. Been looking around trying to find out what people think of them.

my 224 did push on the brakes harder. however, i felt it was very drivable especially with a tune. i have my idle at 700 rpms. i wouldn't hesitate doing it again.
