Default Anyone running a 4.250 crank on stock bore ls1?

I know it might sound dumb but i was browsing through a parts book at the guy who does my machine works shop and his book shows there is a 4.250 crank for the ls1. I know they run them in the larger 6.0 and 6.2L applications but has anyone tried one in the stock ls1 block? What pistons and rods could be run with it? I'm just curious what type of affect that setup would have on such a long stroke with a narrow bore.

i dont know if its possible, but if it is, i wouldnt build a high revver.
keep it under 6600 if you want it to live, IMO.

Yeah i figured the long stroke wouldnt be good for high rpms but it'd be a unique setup i think. Im sure the block would have to be notched or whatever to get it to clear.

I'm not exactly sure, but I do know there would be a few problems.

First, not sure, but when clearancing to fit a crank that size, I believe you will have to run external oil lines as clearancing may run into the oil galley's.

Second, given the very short sleeves in a LS1 block, you will not be able to build a piston with a safe CH, and the piston will come out of the hole a great deal, introducing lots of rock, and oil consumption issues.

It is possible, but its not a street friendly, hi-mileage type of setup.
