GF's 1995 Firebird 3.4 V6
Anyone know were I can get a replacement engine (3.4 V6). Every damn place I find says they are out of stock and discontinued. I want to drop a new engine in there for her as a surprise present.

To swap a 3.8 in you need a whole new ECM and wiring harness, new fuel lines and pump and a ton of other things not worth it... Drop another 3.4 in it or just buy another V6 bird they have gotten dirt cheap..

Yeah, I figured the ECM and Wiring Harness. But the fuel system really makes it not worth it. I am going to buy a rebuilt engine, anyone know of a company out there that might make a small SC for this engine? That way she can think she can hang with my TA..

because the performance option was the ls1 which is better. no one would buy it because the people that want power want the v8, and since it gets 30 mpg theres really no reason for wanting a sc v6 which would get much less.

When my bird blew the 3.4 i wanted to swap it out for something else soooo badly but i did not know what other motors could be dropped in with little work...So i ended up just yard hopping and found like 2. The motor blew again after 3k so i said **** it and got a T/a.

yeah most of them are but you get a warranty for at least six months with the engine and shipping was free for mine which is better than most junyards and you know that the engines in decent shape if they can give you that kind of warranty
