Default Should I go bigger when buying injectors?

Hey guys I need a little help with injector size. Right now all I have done to my car is the normal bolt ons. Recently I had a cylinder missfire and it turned out to be a clogged injector. I replaced it but I'm sure my all of my injectors are dirty and I want to get a new set. I'm looking at the ford red top 30# injectors. I plan on 243 heads and a medium cam in the near future. My question is do you think these will be big enough after the heads and cam? They are 30#'s at three bars right, so what will they put out at 58 psi? I'm also going to get an ajustable FPR at the same time, so can I go ahead and install them and bump the pressure down to 3 bars until I get the heads and cam so I don't run so rich? Thanks

No, don't change the fuel rail pressure down to 3 bar!!!

30# at 3 bar will be about 34# at 4 bar. They should be plenty for you, but if you plan on adding nitrous or anything...I'd step it up a little bit.

This is probably a dumb question, but why can't I bump the pressure down to three bars. Wouldn't they still be putting out more fuel than my stock injectors? I thought 30# 3 bars were 37.5# at 4 bar? Confused?????

let me try to clarify this. A svo red top at 43.5 flows 329 cc/mn or 31.35lbs. at 58 psi the same injector flows 380cc/mn or 36.2 lbs. The SVO Red top is rated at 39psi not 43.5 as most.

OK thanks for the clarification, but my question is that until the heads and cam couldn't I run these injectors at 43.5 so I will be closer to my stock injector output so that I don't run really rich. Thanks for the help every one

Where are you located? You might find someone close enough with HPT or EFIL willing to help you out for little to nothing.

It would be much easier.

yeah that would probably be the best idea. I'm in Jacksonville, FL I'm sure some one around here has a tuning program. Thanks
