Another roll bar question
I am also purchasing a wolf 6 point roll bar CM or MS, not sure yet depends on the funds. My question is what are most people doing, over the seat style or to the rear speaker/wheel wells? I know over the seat you have to drop the tank to install, does this make it that much harder to install?

I have some pics and info here, in a few days Im gona have newera do the finish TIG welding on the chromoly wolfe with over the seat bars.

I've had both, the bolt in wolfe I had was thu speaker. It was nice, that it was hidden a little better form the rear of the car. And I couls still fit my drag wheels and lots of stuff in the back easy. There some pics of it here

But for making the car stronger, they are only bolting to the thin single thick wheel well steel.

One of the draw backs of the speaker bars if you decide to minitub later you will have to change the bars. i do cages in these cars do the over the seat and try yo get your pad as close to the springs as you can. just what i think

I don't like going though the speakers, it just doesn't look right and makes the panels
impossible to remove (or impossible to run without modification / useless).
I prefer to see the bars landed on the back of the hump or down on the rails on either side of the Ttop storage area.

I have a Wolfe bolt in 6 point and went with the over the seat version. It looks better IMO and I didnt want to cut my side panels and lose a speaker on each side. Plus since the fuel tank needed to be dropped it was a good time to upgrade the fuel pump.
BTW, if you go with a bolt in roll bar like I did, you need to weld the rear down bars to the main hoop to be NHRA legal.
Honestly, after a season of having the roll bar in the car, not one tech official has questioned me if the down bars were welded.

I pulled the trigger on the CM to the wheel well type. I did not want to drop the tank etc. I probably should have and upgraded the pump like LilSlo1 did. I got worried it would not get here in time for the season and time for installation so i ordered it while i was home today. It should tighten up the car also from what i hear.
