I reached my goal for my 02 z28 a4, I told myself I wouldnt do anything else to my car until I hit 12s and I did so here come the mods. I have a lid and no muffler.

I was the first one to run in the left lane, this time was my second run of the day. Then the track turned shitty and I couldnt get traction for anything.

O yea street tires at 35 psi.

Lots of traction issues, the track I was at is a really bad track. I launched at about 1200 rpm. I should be going to tulsa soon it is a way better track, hoping for better times than that.

No video but I can post a pic of the time slip, I still have the number on my window and I can take a pic of that, a guy named tray1010 on here can verify my car is stock.

I beat 2 of the ls1 m6's around here before but we are back and forth most of the time.

Thats not true at all. Mine went 13.01 with just a lid on 245/50/16 street tires in pretty good air and I was spinning. If I could have hooked a little more than it definitly would have gone 12s

Anything is possible yes. But still remains a M6 can take off harder due to more RPM's on the launch. I have seen some with similar mods dip into the 12's but not on radials and A4. Do a search and post up the amount you find! I managed a 13.2@106 same way. I added some good mods and upped the power and even went to DR's only to get 12.9@109. I just couldn't get any stall speed out of my converter but now I have the 3600 stall.


An M6 will almost always run more MPH unless something is messed up and or ET better if they can drive. Maybe he has alot of weight stripped out or something.

yeah me and my girlfriend were there and all he has is a lid and cutoff muffler! That is it! He really did run that time!

I was there also and can vouch for him. Coincidently I ran my best ever that same day, 12.99 at 107.94 with just a lid and aftermarket flowmaster knockoff.

Kick ass time man. I'm hoping mine will run a good time when if I can ever get it to a damn track, lol. BTW, what gears are you running? OH AND BTW, the m6 can launch hard, but so can a stalled auto, so there ya go.

Tray1010 and I were curious as to what gears I had and we looked on the door and the code was for 273s, so he had this chart that had rmps and mph in first gear at 1600rpm I was at 14 mph so that translated to 323s. Black are you going to thunder valley this sunday?

Nice driving! This is good news, I had a hunch my car could dip into the 12's with just the lid, ported tb, and 3" exhaust. I have the M6 though.

Great pass! Look back at gm hightechperformance mag, some time ago, they ran an all stock 01 or 02 camaro ss that broke in the
12's! I beleave you! I wish my 02' ws6 m6 ran that!

Congrats on the time man. Drop some air out and get that 60 down. My M6 liked 26psi, but you might can get away with a little more being an auto. You should be good for another tenth or two with that trap. Let us know how it goes at the better track.

I have an 02 SS with a lid and throttle body only....made 6 passes one night and ran a 13.0 somethin every time - couldn't get into the 12's for nothin. I'm an auto, too so I know it can be done. Way to go

u also have to remember with a stick car u can stay in the higher rpms where these motors really make there power which meanies they will have more power. Awesome run to to get back to the thread. u will deff hit a 12.7 or so with a better 60' like a 1.9

To the op, I'll tell you what..
Scan that time slip and post it.
I will take you on your word that your only mods are a lid and no muffler.
If you can do that I will gladly apologise to you and anyone else I may have offended.
I will even start a new thread on it.

grats man I said the same thing about 12's but with the mods I am planning I think it'll be more like a solid mid to low 12 where I stop modding. I don't want a cage in my daily driver. So I swear nothing better than 11.5 :naughty: More power leads to wanting more and more. Quit it before it begins!!

The best I can squeak out so far is a 13.19 Just a lid and I still have an ls1 intake and crappy street tires. I can barely break 2.2 60 ft in part to bad track prep. I figure the intake is worth a tenth or two and a mph or two. I figure an intake and drag radials since auto's and dr's seem to go together like firearms and ammo. Then I should be a bit into the first big magic second barrier for our cars.

Nice run. A lid and no muffler will net about 20hp on a Z. Thats about 370hp at the crank, with a nice well-worn motor. Figure in the DA and vehicle weight is key and it's not too hard to believe the numbers. I've been seeing some full bolt-on cars on this site trapping 114-115.

To see the other extreme for great runs like this, John, look at me. I ran a 13.9 at 103 in terrible DA (I'm guessing here, mid 90's temp) and no traction with about 330rwhp. Then on the street a few weeks later I run dead even from a stop with a Z with similar mods to me who I've personally seen run a 12.86 at 109 at a different track. Shows how important weather and traction is to all cars at any particular track. I need to find a track in So Cal to run times like some of you guys.

Thunder valley blows bad all I did was freaking spin my best time was 13.39. My times are all over the place, im going to have to buy some drag radials.

Nice run!! Get that 60' down it'll go even faster. Hell my car ran a 12.88 and a 12.65 back to back with my relocation brackets!
