thoughts on the patriot lt1 heads?
gotta say the price and components make them look like a pretty dam good package, what do you guys think? they come with a 58cc chamber, gold spring package with Ti retainers, all for 995 shipped a pair. i was set on trickflow or dart heads but for what the patriots come with i am very seriously considering buying them instead especially since my cam is over .600 on the exhaust side so trickflow and dart i think i would have to buy new springs to accomodate that.

Most LT1 cams with over .600 lift are going to need more than the 135# on the seat those offer.
Besides that they are chinese junk. From a Furd forum.

interesting, my cam is 576 int and 608 exh, and the car will be running around 12 psi boost. i was seriously looking at trickflows heads since they have a slightly bigger combustion chamber but the springs were only good to 600 lift so that adds some more cash for a spring upgrade

OK so with boost and that lift I can pretty well guarantee the ".650" lift" springs on the chinese garbage wont be up to the task. 135# on the seat wont do it especially once you factor in boost pushing on the intake valve. Ballpark call it 3sq in of surface for that 12psi to push on meaning you are going to need to account for all that added pressure when choosing springs.
