Default Engine Removal Questions...

Long story short, my crank pulley bolt is snapped INSIDE my crankshaft and there is nothing else that I can do for it soooooo I'm pulling the engine and taking the crankshaft to a machine shop. I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a good write-up on how to properly pull the engine and/or give me some advice on how to do it. Thanks!

Do you have a lift? Or access to a lift. Removing it through the bottom is the easiest way IMHO.

Did you try an ez out on the old bolt. It takes alot of patience and accurate drilling but it can be done. I know from experiance on a ford.

I do have access to a lift.... I thought that these *almost* couldn't be removed from the top...

You don't even have to take the hood off to take them out the top.

They can come out the top but it is much easier to drop it out the bottom. I have done it both ways and the bottom was easier and took less time. The lift will make it very easy.

If you can use a lift drop it through the bottom with the trans on the engine. Take your time and have a buddy help if possible. There are grounds on the back of the heads so watch that while lowering the engine. Here's some pics of mine coming out for some ideas.
