Default to much fuel? hpt?

i just got hp tuners and a wideband. last year i had my car tuned by a guy with hp tuners. i installed my wb over the weekend and i am getting 11.7-12.2 n/a and on spray it is pegged at 10.0. my question is how do i remove fuel with hpt? what table or tables do i change and what do i change. i am new at the hpt so if you could break it down crayola style i would appreciate it!

another question is how to get my wb to log through the egr. i searched and followed step by step instructions. i did it a couple of different ways. it always says unsupported parameters.

if you have the pro you can log your wideband through the enhanced interface output.

post your tune, I'm assuming you have stock injectors?

oh yeah, its the older serial cable that is open for 01-02 f bodies. can you log through the egr with this? i hooked up the wire off the wb to pin 55 on the blue connector.

You can log through the egr from what I understand. You have to create the pid and have the correct output from the wideband hooked up to the egr pin. I haven't done it but there are people that use that.

The fueling is the constant. So if your fueling numbers are correct, then you have to change your air. For that is your VE table and then move onto your MAF if you are not tuning SD. You use the scanner to log your AFR % error. Get a good long log, 30 min-hour and hit all the cells.

what would you change in those tables to get less fuel?
what is the afr% error? do you have to set this up when setting up a wb?

click on Engine> Fuel control> power enrich> EQ ratio vs. RPM.

Divide 14.7 by the number in the cell and that's you command A/F ratio.

I have a wet kit so I tuned my car N/A first then adjusted fuel jets on the spray. I have mine set at 12.8-13.0 on motor and 11.7-12.0 on the spray. If you have a dry kit your going to have to take a different approach.

ok if you have a wet kit then do what I told you for the A/F.

For timing, I have nothing to retard timing so I have it set at about 20* max, but I imagine I'd be ok with 24* with my 150 shot I just like to be safe. I think its something like 2* for every 50hp.....but you probably already know that though.

I have one; there is no shortcut. Spend the time, do the research, make baby steps, post any specific questions.

For your original post, sounds like your VE and/or MAF tables are off. If it went to a 'pro' dyno-tuner, check the IFR and make sure he didn't jack that up.

Unless your MAF and VE are properly tuned, you will not GET commanded fueling by changing the WOT EQ.

You mean the commanded and actuals won't line up right? I'm well aware of this.

I was assuming all was gravy with the rest of his tune considering the fact that he's spraying a 125 shot..........

IFR= injector flow rate. Make sure it matches an OEM file for your year car.

if you have stock injectors, compare your Injector Flow Rate tables to a stock tune. If not find out what your IFR is supposed to be and input those numbers in.
