Default 6.0 LQ9 in f-body questions on accessories

highly considering putting in a 6.0 iron block in my fbody for added block strength and want to know if there are any big things i should know about before going to it. Texas speed told me i would have to drill one hole for an alternator bracket to bolt up. any others? also want to make sure my front, rear covers oil pan and all that is a direct fit? any help from someone who knows or has done the swap would be greatly appreciated

thanks,
Tyler

Front/rear/valley covers bolt up. The a/c bracket can only use 3 of the 4 bolts holding it to the block, but not a big deal. Have to drill/tap one hole for the alternator bracket, everything else bolts right up! I just finished mine.......

Sorry to hijack the thread brother I have a stupid question. I own a 2005 2500HD with a 6.0 in it. I use it to tow the Z06 around and play with. With 37" tires and 10" lift it could use some mods. I thought a nice set of headers would be great. Is this the SAME LQ9 everyone uses?

Yes it's the same LQ9. Headers would be a nice addition. It's hard to free up extra power down low where you need it in a truck. I would also look at reducing parasitic with an underdrive pulley and electric fan if you don't already have one. The best thing for a truck is to add a supercharger to get torque.
