Default weird issue with MSD wires

so i bought a set of 8.5 MSD wires for my 97 z. driver side was cake...passanger side not so much. #2 wire is short. all the others are in fine but if its on the plug and opti its to tight to go in the retainer behuind the PS pump. tried switching a few around...no go. do i need another set to get another one? or has anyone had luck with other wires over MSD? was thinking taylors cause they are 8mm

Wire routing is going to be the big factor, I had a set of those with manifolds, routed in the factory method and they were fine.

The MSDs won't fit in the stock looms. I took them out and zip-tied them behind the pulleys and have been good for over a year now. I had plenty of extra wire with the manifolds but with the headers, the wires just reach with not much extra slack.

Are you sure you don't have some of the wires on the wrong side of the car?

Agreed. Double-check that you have the correct wires on the correct terminals.

I've used a couple of sets of the Moroso Blue Max wires with good results. Both sets fit well, through the OE looms, and are labeled by plug number.
