I am going to go with negative. The 94-97 cars with the LT1 are a completely different animal than the LS1. I am sure that along with all the redesigns the MAF was one of them. Maybe someone else will chime in here with another answer but I highly doubt they can be swapped with one another.
If you need another MAF just pick a used one up out of the classifieds, I got one for $50 back a few months ago when mine went out.

You need to stick with a LS1 maf.
I see that you need a wiring harness and pcm too.
Remember that the '98 harness is different than the other years as is the pcm.
The '98 MAF does not incorporate the IAT sensor in it like the later years.
I would use a later model harness and pcm, then get whatever sensor is not compatible with the connector.

There's a whole lot of incorrect information on this thread.
I'm not sure who's saying that the MAF has the IAT in it on any stock F-body...but they're wrong...the MAF for a 2002 is the same as it is in a 1998...also, the MAF from a 1994-1997 LT1 F-Body is the same part number, as the MAF from a 1998-2002 LS1 F-Body. If you see someone with an F-Body running a MAF with the IAT built into it, thats not stock (some of us are just really good at wiring in sensors to look like they are in fact stock )
You can't just copy the MAF tables from an LS1 PCM to an LT1 PCM, or vice versa as the scaling in the tables is different (if my memory serves me the LT1 PCM is every 128 hz and the LS1 is every 125 Hz...took me some matlab work to make myself tables for the LT1 PCM to use the newer 5 wire MAF from the ZO6 and trucks and other new vehicles) but it is from 1994 through 2002 the same sensor, and using one from any 1994-2002 F-Body with that cars stock programming will work.

Also all 98-02 F-body MAFs are the same. None used the 85mm MAF with the internal IAT.

thank you very much i to just called and checked part numbers right before i read this. they are the same.
i just bought the 98 and it doesnt have one. and i have 3 for my lt1. so it works out great.
now i just need the hose that adapts from the ram air box to the maf. to the throttle body. without the silencer. ill probably have to custom make it.

I agree with you, I've been swapping them around on vehicles for years (and installing them on B-Bodies since they came with smaller sensors), I just never had actual part number data on them before looking up the replacement PN's, but you are correct, the original 3.5" MAF had the snap ring, then the newer one did not. Sensor calibration is the same though, and it depends on the style of air intake the car is equipped with, on a ram air LT1 firebird you will find different tables than you will find in an LT1 Z28...for the same sensor...just like a 5 wire MAF in a truck is going to have different tables than it has in a ZO6...everything I have seen shows all the LS1 F-Bodies have the same MAF tables...as the MAF is in the same place relative to the TB in all of them...unlike the LT1 cars where in some cases it's off to the side (like a B-Body) and in other cases it's right in front of the TB.
