Default carb'd 5.3 in a 93 gt

I sold the gto and bought this mustang. It was a turbo a3 car that needed some help. tried to bring it back to life with a forged 331 and kept blowing head gaskets. sooo then I decided to do my original plan. LSx in a fox. I sold all of my ford junk and picked up a salvage yard 5.3, vic jr, holley 850, msd 6010, kooks long tubes, scoggin dickey
n228 camshaft(228/236 @.050 114lsa .550"/.600") along with springs and pushrods, built glide with a manual valve body and transbrake. I used the aje k member and trans crossmember. had to get a 48" driveshaft made. im running the camaro water pump, hoses and radiator, but here it is. I got it running earlier today.

Looks good and congrats! Glad to see you filled in all those holes, it drives me nuts looking at the swiss cheese some people keep! (As-in the shock towers/firewall and whatnot) Did you make the Alternator bracket? Just running the alt and waterpump?

I looked at this once a couple days ago, and then I came back and looked again, and now, here I am again, and this time I just have to comment. This is a neat little car. It's simple and clean, and everything fits like it was meant to be that way. It should be great fun to drive, and a killer on the strip or street. Good job Hope you have good luck with it!

thanks guys it is fun to drive. needs exhaust seeing that ive driven it twice with open longtube and its rediculous. I have a power rack with no powersteering. its much harder to over correct with no powersteering and that stiff rack.

can you take a picture from underneath the car? I am curious as to how low the headers sit... Ideally, one from directly in the front of the car.

It would be greatly appreciated, if they sit low enough, I will be able buy a set, but if they don't I will have to do custom and $700 is a lot nicer than $1200

with my subframe connectors you can only see maybe an inch of the bottom of the collector. the point directly at the tranny crossmember bolting points.

My buddy is going a CARB 91 GT right now with a 2001 5.3
ported LS2 Heads 62cc, Comp CAM, RPM intake, with 3000 stall th350 and 3.73 gears in the 8.8 rear.

Should run low 12s no problem.

acces. are all stock. just that custom bracket and shorter belt. just camaro pump and balancer. the stock hood barely fit. i mean barely. i had to get one of the gay edelbrock triangle filters and hack the bottom mount off.

Nice build. You could go with a maziere race water pump and a BMR alt bracket that hangs it on the bottom, that would really clean it up. That's what I did.

What tranny are you using?
