Default DynoSim 5 and DragSim 5, Fun and suprizingly accurate!

My wife always looks over my shoulder and asks random questions about what Im looking at. Ive told her these programs look fun, well she suprised me and bought DynoSim5 and DragSim5, They were apparently on sale.

I had Desktop Dyno 2000 so I was hoping this was much improved. I entered all my information as accurtatly as I could. Head flow, exact cam specs, etc.

Come to find out it not only puts out Flywheel HP, but it also puts out RWHP! FUN!!! Since I had my truck chassis dyno'd and ran it at the track last year, I had something to compare it to.

Chassis dyno(Superflow Dyno STP Correction)
326hp@ 5500/ 347tq@4500.

Dyno Sim
323@5500 346@4500.

The Drag simulator was close too..

Actual Timeslip
60'- 1.767
1/8- 8.114@ 84.56
1/4- 12.819@ 103.59

Sim Timeslip
60'- 1.761
1/8- 8.084@ 85.0
1/4- 12.803@ 103.6

Really pretty amazing, although they didnt have an S-10 for a vehicle. So I looked through and guestamated which vehicle would have the same frontal area, then adjusted the weight and wheelbase.

Good info. I've been using Engine Analyzer Pro for over 10 years and recently acquired Dynomation 5. I've been able to model engine combo's within 1% of actual output with Engine Analyzer Pro. I'm presently playing around with the wave simulation in Dynomation 5, it looks promising.

The key to software simulations is DATA. It's got to be accurate. Garbage in > Garbabe out.

Thats cool. A friend has a similar dyno program, its called engine analyzer something, and his program predicted 520 rwhp for me, and I put down 517.3 rwhp. These programs are pretty good, as long as you put in accurate info.

I used "LS1/LS6 HP Runners/Mods" for the intake and 900cfm. Ive had 90mm TBs on the flow bench before and they flowed about the 930s IIRC, it was a few years ago.

That's the built-in intake that simulates the FAST. The flow rate you quote for a 90mm TB, I'm assuming that's at 28 in?

Wow, those numbers are pretty damn close to the actual numbers. They sound like some cool programs.

I know this is an old thread but hope someone will read and respond to my post.

I've looked at both Dynosim5 and Engine Analyzer Pro and neither include injector size. Why is that?

Thanks! John

Because injectors don't change HP given you have enough injector. But I do know EA will tell you the amount of fuel required for the given combo you put in so you can select the correct size injectors.
