Nothing wrong with a re-grind IF it's re-ground properly and heat treated properly. Just make sure you account for the reduced base circle and make sure the lifters are still in a position in the bores that allows for them to see proper oiling.
Just because a cam is ground to the same lift and duration numbers does not mean it's the same lobe profile either...so be aware a cam that is advertised as a clone of another may not be, and may not perform the same way.

not junk, but people are worried about what they dont know about, plus it would be a pain in the *** and expensive for most to have to replace their motor if something bad did happen bc of that cam...

well secondly you need to know the lobe profiles on these.I mean if you dont care about ipower, drivability, tunability, and just want it,then go ahead. But the lobe profiles are just as important as the duration specs that you may want. They could me some really lazzy lobes, which will suck imo.Or it could have real aggressive lobes, which may put out good power, but be kinda hard on your valvetrain.Theres a lot more to cams then just duration specs and lsa.

I looked in to the eBay regrind guy a few months ago. I didn't get one but he seemed pretty straight up. The regrind machine is just like a key greinder. You put in the original and it cuts an exact duplicate. He uses teh orignal Comp Cam or GM cam for the "template" cam. He uses 5.3l or 6.0l LSx cams for the cores. The cam grinder can add or subtract 2 dregrees of LSA when it is cut.
What he doesn't mention in his ad is that you have to run 7.500 pushrods to make up for the cuting.
Thanks, Rick

Many people clone cams. They let others do the work (research) and then make their own copy of it. I know of a shop in my area who does it all the time. He will get a cam or head and cam install customer and send the cam off to his cam doctor and keep a record of the grind. Then when someone wants that cam he call his buddy the cam grinder and pop one out. It's a copy of the original.
I don't/won't do that. All our grinds come from Comp and are spec'd by Erik at HKE.
If you want a TR224 or MS4 or G5x3 or Streetsweeper.. etc then buy one from the people who took the time to do the research to get the cam right. Call them and they can explain it's characteristics to you better than someone who just copy's them.
