Default Another soulless FD RX7

Decided to take the plunge into building a RX7. Ive been researching this swap for a few years and finally can afford to do it. All of my knowledge comes from here and V8RX7forum.com

Car is a 1994 RX7 Touring in Montego Blue. I got it from a v8rx7 member for 2500. not in the best shape, but the price makes it low enough that i can fix the issues slowly and stay ahead of buying one in better condidtion. I have nearly all the interior, its just not installed.

Decided to go ahead and take the plunge on an LS2/T56 setup. I got it from Cleveland Pick-a-Part on here. It is in good condition with 27k out of a 05 GTO. I do need a C6 oil pan if anyone wants to trade or sell me one.

and with my assistant

my aluminum DS for the swap

I have the mounting hardware and intake/rad setup on order, hopefully get it in a week. that will take care of the expensive bits and its just the smaller stuff after that to get it all together. Right now i plan on goin with 99 style front bumper and sideskirts and a shineauto low profile spoiler. haven't decided on body color yet, although im lookin at corvette jetstream blue and evo spiral gray as my to leading choices.

I just purchased an RX7 (fc) for this exact purpose. However, I'm going to use a 5.3 and am trying to find a T56 to use. They are scarce around here. I thought you needed to use the f-body trans to get the shifter in the correct spot? I could be wrong as my research has been limited at this point.

the GTO works also from what i hear, guess ill find out for sure before too long. if i have to i will modify the shifter handle. with the f-body trans u have to use a mustang shifter handle(steeda triax is what everybody seems to go with) because the shifter is a tad too far forward in relation to the shifter hole, at least with an FD. im hoping the GTO is in the right location with its set back position. idk as much about the FC tho, but i am consiering building a 5.3 FC for a DD when i finish this FD

Its just a roll pinned cup & shifter that are different. Not hard to swap to f-body spec
