Look at the RPO codes in the glovebox/door jam.

GU2 2.73
GU4 3.08 (some V6 cars, no V8s)
GU5 3.23
GU6 3.42

No car came standard with 3.73 gears.

OP could've narrowed it down by saying what trans he had lol Hindsight :\

Manual = 3.42s
Auto = 2.73s or 3.23s. Pretty sure Z Rated tire cars got 3.23s, in which case if he has a 150mph speed he's got 3.23s.

I ask honestly, did they actually put 2.73s in Tran Ams?! Seems a bit of an oxymoron; Performance car with Economy Gears :\

Just because its 150 mph speedo don't mean its 3.23s can be 2.73s also.
Some Trans Ams have the 2.73s in Ls1s & LT1s.

Look in Glovebox or on the driver door for the RPO Code
GU2 for 2.73
GU5 for 3.23

Or Look at the RPMs driving.
http://www.f-body.org/gears/

2.73s 60 mph is 1500 rpm
3.23s 61 mph is 1800 rpm

Thats just a year model difference.

My 94 had 273s with a 150 speedo so throw that out the window as stated earlier.

I went from 273s to 323s and there was a big difference. 273s suck.

We gave you the RPO codes, look on your door, or in your glove box (depending on year).

But since you know your RPMs and the tire size, put them in.

Or jack up the back end and count tire to drive shaft rotations. A bit less messy, time consuming and costly lol
