Default What do you guys think about this build for a Daily Driver

I want something with at least 400 hp but has to be reliable i was gonna get roller rockers (should i go 1.5 or 1.6), get the heads rebuild at a machine shop(what exactly should i have him do to the heads), do a mild cam (cause i have to pass emisions ), and then get it bored out 30 over and should i just use the stock crank and rods
so what do you guys think i will pull with this setup and is there anything else that i will need with it
thanks

I wouldn't go anywhere near that package, especially with the Eagle cast stock-stroke crankshaft. You can have a stronger package reusing your stock crank and rods and picking up a nice forged piston for a comparable cost.

As always, call up Lloyd Elliott or AI. Being you've got a A4 you are going to need a lot of supporting mods to achieve 400rwh. What are your current modifications?

Honestly I would build the suspension before the motor. Gotta be able to put it to the ground first.

i was thinking of doing the le2 cam and heads combo or the advanced induction, what will the aluminum driveshaft do(i know it saves weight but why would i need it) and what does the throttle body bypass kit do, and with an electric water pump do you have to flip a switch to turn it on everytime you start it because this is an everyday driver and could become a pain

So many questions...you might want to try the search feature.

Aluminum driveshaft decreases rotating mass - good for a few HP to the wheels (weaker than the stock steel shaft). Also has been known to decrease high speed vibrations (known as "vibeshaft.")

The throttle body bypass bypasses coolant flowing through the lower part of the throttle body, decreasing intake charge temps. Worth a few HP as well.

Electric water pumps are commonly switched to a switched 12V+ source. This means that whenever the key is on, the pump is on.

so if you switch the key on but dont start it the pump is running coolant through the motor

Yes. You can wire it any way you want.

With a 2-pole switch, switched 12V, whatever. There's no right or wrong way to do it. As long as it's running when the engine is running.

No. If anything, you can run it after the motor has been running to cool it off quicker, when used in conjunction with a fan switch.
