There's a yellow 3rd gen RX-7 here on Whidbey. It has a stock '02 LS1 with a few bolt ons. He has a nice cam for it, but he's been too lazy to buy the supporting pieces. I've driven it a few times. It scoots pretty decent for stock being that it only weighs 2800lbs and the stock 4.10 gears out back.

88 RX7 here... Sammamish, WA. it' not perfect, but that was the point... small dings & scratches, quiet & all under the hood. I don't take it out much, had it to the track a couple times last year... 12.03 @113 so far.

There's a guy who gets on here sometime with a C-3 vette with an LS1

JohnB? has a MonteCarlo with an LS7 (I think he had an LS1 and LS6 in it also)

I'm putting one in my 68 Chevy pickup.....not wired up yet....waiting on paint.

Really none so far. LS6 intake and hawks headers. Just an upgrade from the HSR 305 that was in there for now. I'll wait 'till I get it running to start modding.

Auto- performabuilt stage 2, w/ 3500 stall, using a Hurst quarterstick shifter. It's a base model w/ sunroof, Al hood, manual steering, & no AC. mods include suspension work(currently set up more for the strip), 5-lug hubs, turbo diff, shorty headers, X-pipe, & ported TB. I hope to have time/cash to do some more mods this spring/summer.... haven't put it up for sale.

pics: (has stock 5-lug wheels on it now, and a few other minor changes for function.)

Absolutely no idea. :D It was 3800lbs w/ gas and driver before the swap. I dropped it on the ground and rolled it back a forth a couple times to see it settle but I still have a good 3-4" fender gap where before I couldn't stuff more than a thumb in.

yea, so sounds like you lost some weight, those arent aluminum are they?

about the header install... i was wondering how hard that is to do, ive been putting it off because it looks time consuming, i think im going to install them, take out the A.I.R. pump, cut out the stock Y pipe, have a custom y pipe made (No cats), and exit into a 4" electric cutout

Iron heads, Al block. But still loads lighter than iron block, iron heads, al intake 305.

The headers were cake. My old hedmen LTs required denting and lifting of the motor to get in correctly. These Hawks fit amazingly well in the engine bay. I have a non-AC heater box though, don't know if there is interference there. My only qualm with the headers is the collectors sit way to close to the frame rails for me. I would've liked it if they tucked closer to the trans. But what can ya do.

what did you use for a trans crossmember? ive got a spohn now, but also have one that the previous owner bought that is in a "W" shape meant for pipes to go under for more clearance i guess, i have A/C, but dont need it, i need to clean my engine bay up a little.

Originally I used the spohn one. Man that was a hideous design. It stuck so far down I scraped on EVERYTHING. I found a member on thirdgen.org "drews" that was making the double humped xmember. From what I understand he no longer makes the xmember but Skulte offers a similar one.

If yours is like that, I'd run it no doubt. Sell off that spohn unit so you can run the LTs straight back instead of having to cross over to the passanger side. MUCH better clearance.

that was one of the sweetest FC's I've ever seen. it sold to a guy in a Alberta for $12k I think.

the FC is about equal in weight to the FD, depending on options, the bonus of the FC is they're dime-a-dozen, and much easier swaps (more space, cheaper kits). the FC can loose a bunch of weight depending on what you want to give up, I think mine's about 2600# some I've read about being as low as 2200#.
the stock NA 7" rear end is a weak one(though some guys run them with autos), the turbo is 8" & clutch limited slip, but the only ratios are 4.10:1 or a rare 4.33:1(sought after by the rotorheads). they can hold up to about 450 hp but not beyond it. there are a couple diff swap options(ford 8.8 IRS and other live axles) now for better gear ratios but it gets spendy fast...

Saw a 240 with an LS2 in it down in Auburn. From what I was told it was pretty much just a GTO with 240 body pannels. As in, swaped motor and drivetrain, even the steering wheel was outa the GTO.

I know the car your referring to. It has an LS2 and GTO seats and he even put GTO hood scoops into the hood. Very well done, and 400 rwhp.

Also, there is a fairlady Z with an LS1 that came to the Turbo Tech Dyno Day a couple years back. Also very well done.

I am up here in Mt Vernon in process of a LS1 A4 swap into my 39 Ford sedan. My 38 w/406SBc weighed in at 2980 so I'm hoping for 2850 roundabout for this one. Just headers, cam & maybe LS6 intake to start with.
Trying to get it down to Bloods in 3 months for a tune. Anybody close to me doing any LS swapping?
