Default v6 3.8 camaro fuel pump running a 5.3

Think there would be an issue with this?

Going through the trouble of installing merely a 5.3.
That's the only problem I see..

Okay..To each their own..Actually if you're looking to refine the car for not alot of money,a 5.3 would be okay. It's certainly better than a 3.8.
It'll probably get better mileage than the v-6 did.
Just to be on the safe side,I would put in a GM LS1 pump..If nothing more than to have a fresh part back there. It's not a requirement to get it running or driving, but I wouldn't skimp on it.

Well, I just had the 5.3 laying around, didnt have an ls1 sitting out back, and I figure this should satisfy me till I get around to doing an lq4 build or something. Its a brand new pump last year, thats why I kinda hate to change it and its just such a pain (im not doing the trap door method). Just wanted to know if the 6er pump could keep up.

if this helps i looked up the fuel pressure specifications for a 3.8 it was like 48-54psi and for a 5.3 it was 54-58psi. So you can always check your presure now with the pump in it and see what the pressure is. this was for a 2000 chevy truck and a 2000 camaro.

By the way i have seen chevys with like 5 pounds less pressure run like crap so it might just be a gamble and see what happens??

If you do have to change it, cut an Acess Panel, it's alot easier.

I had to put in a Walbro 255 for my Stroker Engine, it worked alot better. I don't see why the stock one there wouldn't work for your 5.3l..
