Default LT1 smog pump/EGR provisions: '94 to '95 OK?

search yielded no help so here goes:

i have the chance to purchase a '94 smog pump off a firebird formula, will this be a direct replacement for the '95 smog pump (missing in my '95 TA)? im trying to replace the smog pump and EGR valve and provisions on my '95 TA since the car has to be huffed here in TX, and I don't care to pay $150+ to have the codes tuned out, etc.

i think it will fit no problem, then its a matter of getting the EGR stuff. can anyone confirm this for me?

car is an OBDI car with the ODBII port...

please do not say tune them out. it's simply easier, and cheaper to replace and add back whats gone to make the SES light go off and stay off. thanks...

The pumps should be identical. The Fbody AIR/EGR systems should be identical from '94-97. '93 had some piping differences, but I don't know much more.

Here is a diagram too, just in case you needed one:

i still have the bracket and the male connector, so it's a start. if i get the pump it will come with the female connector attached. from looking at the diagram, it appears i might need a few more items. but i will need to look at what i have on the car first.

that diagram helps me out a lot. thanks!

That diagram should have the old recalled components and the new ones.
The top row one is the old set up, the bottom row is what you should have on your car now.

I don't remember for sure, but I think I once used an extra fuel rail bolt inside one of the smog pump bolt holes. Pull one out, see if it threads into the bracket, if it does, then you can take that bolt to the hardware store and get some with the same thread pitch.

well come to find out it's not throwing any codes for the AIR pump. instead its the passenger side O2 sensor that is the only code being tossed. got under the car to look and sure enough, a couple of the wires are cut.

of course the passenger side O2 sensor location is the bitch location while the driver's side is on the y-pipe and easy to access. instead i get to drop the y-pipe to get a wrench on the sensor. if they would ahve placed it 3" down on the y-pipe like the driver's side, it would already be replaced...

ok, the O2 sensor is installed and the car runs great. huge difference in throttle response and off idle acceleration!!! all the hesitation i felt and experienced before was due to the O2 sensor. worlds of difference!!!

inspection here i come...
