Default NEED HELP! street tires on drag lites

will keep short and sweet..

im looking for something like a 315/50/15 STREET TIRE for my car... i cant seem to find them anywhere..
a 325 of course would work or possibly a 305.. but i want the biggest tire i can get on it and BE A STREET TIRE..
i DO NOT want drag radials.. i drive my car every day and want them to last.. i care NOTHING about how well they hook.. i have a set of slicks for when i want to race and stuff..

CLIFF----- biggest/widest STREET tire that gets a lot of miles in its life!?!?! where!?!? links? prices? brands?
traction does not matter and i dont want a drag radial..

Do you mean 315/60/15 street tire? I don't think your going to find anything wider than a 275 if you want to stick with a 26" tall tire. If you can go with the 28" your best bet would probably be like a BFG Radial T/A or something.

i would like it to be taller than a 26..

like i said, i want the biggest widest street tire i can fit on a 15 inch rim under there..

i would love something like a 325/50 or 60/15 although i doubt they have that size... a 315/50 would suffice

i have 295s on there right now and i think they are 50/15..

do you have a link where they have the BFG radial T/A for a 15 inch rim? i cant find them anywhere and have been looking forever..
how long those hold up?

thanks for reply!

They last quite a while. I put 275/60/15s on my moms firebird, and it's seen its fair share of tire smoke, and they still look brand new. Going on three years now.

The only bad thing, is the biggest ones they currently offer are 275/60/15s. They used to have a 295/60/15 that we used to run, but stopped making it. Put them on a 10" rim and they will look alright.

This is them on the back of my mom's 78 Firebird, with 8" wheels.

Here are a couple better shots to give you an idea of how the 275/60/15s look.

those dont look bad at all.. but i dont think i would be happy with them..

i have 295s on there right now and they are a bit too small...

there has got to be a 305+/50/15 street tire out there somewhere..

I think I have your solution. 28x12.5-15 M/T Sportsman Pro tires. They are a bias ply treaded street tire. They are about .3 wider than a 325/50/15 Drag Radial.

Option 4. The first couple are a radial tire. I think for the amount of driving you're looking to do, the bias ply28x12.5-15 Sportsman Pro tire would be a better choice, and will fit well.

how long do you think option 1/2 would last with normal every day DD?

they look soooo much better as for tread.. would love to have them.. but if they wear like a BFG drag radial NO WAY IN HELL i am buying those..

I'm not sure how they wear, you might send a PM to SIC LSX, I know he has them on his car. Although I do have a customer put a set on his street rod and he said they are scary in the rain. I would go with option 1 out of 1 or 2. Unless your fenders are trimmed already, and lips are completely rolled, putting a 30" tire under it won't be easy.

Look up American Racer tires, they make tires for roundy round cars. We had a set of asphalt tires on our drag car for a while when we drove it to the track and they hooked pretty good. They are bias ply and are DOT legal and last realy good and are good in the rain. I'm sure they would have something you are looking for.

Edit: I just looked them up and the biggest tire for a passenger type car is a 305/60/15
