Okay to drive with leak???
Hello, got a quick question. Ive got a 99 WS6 and it leaks trans fluid from the front of the trans, where it bolts to the engine. Im assuming it is a pump seal gone bad, or a small crack in the torque converter. My question is would it be okay to drive, even though it has a trans fluid leak, as long as I keep an eye on the fluid level? It will leave a small puddle, probably 5" around after it has been parked all night. The trans shop quoted me $500 to change the seal including labor and parts! I thought that was expensive so I plan on doing it myself. I just dont want to screw up other internals because of the leak.
thanks, let me know.

I had on odd leak in my 4L60E that would leave a 5" or more puddle over night.
It was a deep scratch in the case right where the pump o-ring seals.
I pulled it out, filled the scratch with JB Weld and sanded it smooth, replaced the pump o-ring, pump gasket, pump seal, the bushing, the bolt o-rings, put in a high rev pump ring kit, Seems like I did more than that but it cost me under $50 in name brand parts.

Ok thats pretty much what i figured, as long as it doesnt get really bad, it will be okay until i can get the hoist cleared off and ready for my car.
9000th01ss- where did you buy those trans parts from?
How long does it take to pull the trans in an F-body? I have access to a hoist and all the tools you could ever want.
thanks for the help
