Default M6 to 700r4....what drawbacks?

I blew up my M6 and now I am thinking about getting a 700r4 put in. What are the drawbacks to this and what would be needed to do this? I really want an over drive so a TH350 and 400 are out of the question.

Its going to take alot of money to make a 700R4 take any kind of abuse.

A 700R4 is basically a non-electronic version of the weak-*** 4L60E. It's not very strong either. A much better bet would be to have a bullet-proof 200-4R built. They are much stronger in modified form. The 200 also has a higher .67 OD vs. the 700's .70 ratio.

I was just told by a transmission guy that builds race tranys that for the money the 700r4 can be built alot stronger than a 2004r. Do any of you know why the 200r4 is built stronger? I do not question this guy seeing how he has been building them forever for drag cars, so why would the 2004r be better to you guys?

Also what all would I need to buy to make the swap complete? I know shifter, TV cable, dipstick, convertor, what else? What crossbrace would I need to run my BMR Torque arm with the 700r4?
