Default My 2009 Build for my Turbo 98 Cyber Gray SS with pictures

Part 2 of the build. Been high 8's so the progressive step is low 8's\high 7's.

Iron block 370ci Iron block - with the good turbo parts - half filled
Same AFR 225 heads
Same WTW cam
Same TH-400
Same 9" rear-end with 3.50's
Same Victor Jr Intake

We'll be running E-98 this year, so we up the injectors. 8 160lbers and 8 100lbers = 260lb per cylinder.

I guess the biggest change is from twin T-67's to a little 106MM Precision turbo.

Oh ya, another small change: painted the NBM 1998 SS (original SS build #114) to the ZR1 Cyber Gray. Very cool color. It will be very light sensitive. Has a lot of pearl in it.

There will be many other changes to accommodate the new power: 25.5 cage; all new fuel system; new brake system.

The entire build is being done by my builder of many years and my sponsor, Joey at Excessive AutoSports.

Here's a couple of pictures:

The pictures do not do the car or color right. The more I look at the SS. The more I know I did the right thing to change colors.

I have been looking at your sig and wondering who's car that was. I didn't know you were completely changing it up. You should move out with the 106. Fireball went 8.35 with a FI98x and blwnTA went 8.06 with a 94mm. Both were on relatively similar engine combos. With the 106 I would expect quite a bit more growing room.

Looks good, with the 106 you got enough power to go 7.5s on a SOFT tuneup.

Looking good. Any specific reason you dropped the 408 for the 370?

Thanks guys. The color is amazing. 106MM should work just fine for our goal this year. To answer why the 370ci vice 408ci. Something different. Should allow a few more RPM's. We'll see. We usually change the SS about every other year.

We'll have to see. October is a long way off. Too many things could happen between now and than.

The painter was suppose to bring the rest of the SS to the shop today, but good old South Dakota. Started as freezing rain, turned to snow

Engine is together. Wiring is almost done. Cage is painted. Carpet is going in tonight. Everything is tracking OK. Power coating is scheduled to be done tomorrow (Wednesday), Thursday at the latest. Joey (my builder) is hoping to set the engine in tomorrow. Tranny was freshened up last year - only 1 weekend on it. Converter was just reflashed and cleaned - only 2 weekends on it. Rear end is still in great shape - we are going to only have to change its oil. Fuel and water tanks are completed and in; battery set-up is ready to go in. Man, Joey has busted *** on this build. Oh yea, the tires are bought just need to be mounted - ET Drag 30x10.5W front; new ET Front Runners - same rims. The M/T Drag Radials are still good for another 30-40 passes.

Only 10 days to the car show.

Still have to wait until last weekend in April for the local track to open.
