Jets vehicles don't count in my world:

1/4 mile e.t.'s - records

Top Fuel - Schumaker 4.428

F/C - T Pedregon 4.659

P/S - G. Anderson 6.528

Quickest LX powered car P. Majors 7.23 - 2008 - There is a 2008 top 10 LX powered car list posted on another web page. Since they aren't a sponsor here I won't mention it. Two of last years top 10 LX race cars are sold and have been moved out of the country. I've seen three others improve their et's in 2009 from thier posted records of 2008. But to see this happen you sometimes need to follow LX racers and visit the tracks they visit. First hand is much better than a picture or vidio

Hope this helps - But I am not sure what you were really asking:

In many cases it's not how fast you qualify. It how fast you put together a number of races and how the reactions are that pays you the money at the end of the night!!

quickest LSx powered is actually the W2W car that went into the 6s, but it was tube chassis on a big slick.

Actually the fastest was a rocket not a jet.

In the realm of flight do you only count piston engined planes?

Fast is fast.

And when we are talking about sub 4 second 1/4 mile times I don't care what it's powered by.

.

The absolute fastest 1/4 mile pass that people recognize were the old peroxide rockets.

They were outlawed many years ago for the high mortality rate.

The fuel cars are the fastest modern day & piston powered 1/4 mile runs.
