i know it's just temporary power but have you thought about the juice ? if you don't want to run spray but still outrun a terminator car i would be looking for no less than 440-450 rwhp and even then i would only race pullied ones.your mileage/driveability will suffer some,it depends on how good the tune is on how much it will suffer. just my $.02

^^^ Regular Cobra a h/c ls1 will handle no problem but get one that has been modded and pumping out 500rwhp and you'll need more than just h/c.
I can set you up with a H/C package that will give you all you need to handle a regular one but you have to realize there is always a faster car out there.

Even the big cams can be daily driven, but need a good tuner. A pullied cobra with exhaust and a tune will net around 450-500whp. You will need 450whp to compete with it, so a good h/c is manditory and a small bottle(75-100 shot) will teach him a lesson easily. You can still get decent gas mileage(20-25mpg) with a h/c, just as long as you are tuned for it also.

with a solid h/c setup i would also want to put on a fast setup which would be another 1200 bucks on top of a 3000$ h/c setup so it will be quite a bit of money to do it right. personally if i had to do it again and i wanted 450-500 rw and good driveability i would start looking for a good used p1/d1 procharger setup.

I have seen a pullied cobra with full exhaust be door to door with a mild/heavy cammed with TFS headed GTO. Some are stronger than others, and depends if you are racing a good driver. He is looking to be able to teach a lesson to the guy. You need really good power to do that.

if you really want to teach him a lesson you need a s/c or t/c with 10lbs of boost. h/c will get a stock one for sure, hell a bolt on ls1 can almost keep up with one on the hwy. you will need 500+ at the tires to not worry about wasting a cobra.
