Default Gear question, please help...

Short & sweet.
I currently have the "stock" 273's. Have a friend that has some 342's that he will give me for helping with header install. Question is, can i just have someone slap these in?
Or will i have to upgrade my carrier? What "EXACTLY" do i need to do.? TIA.
Matt

If he's just gonna give you the 3.42 ring and pinion, then yes, you do need a 3-series carrier.

I believe it's the complete gear set. as he went to a 373. Guess i'll clarify that this weekend.
Thanks.

OK, well if he went to 3.73s than those would use the same carrier as his 3.42s used, so I'd guess that you are indeed just getting the ring & pinion.

You would just need a carrier... AKA Differential.
Check out SLP's take-off unit for $99....
