New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - good deal?

lookin to buy some headers to get rid of the cats. and i wasn't sure if this would 1. work 2. give me more power and 3. if i bought them would i need to buy anything else? i got a 01 T/A

That will get rid of every thing to the "I" pipe in your cat back. So manifolds cats and stock Y pipe is replaced with your link. Yes you will see more power too. Just get some new GM exhaust manifold gaskets.

I haven't seen any results specific to that system but they will surely pick up some power over your stock exhaust setup and get rid of your cats. What catback are you running? Or a cutout?

I'd be interested to see dyno results before and after. That's definitely an inexpensive option.

I have not heard much about the BBK system either but you definitely want longtubes and not midlengths or shortys. You don't have EGR so no need to worry about that but you will have to do something about your AIR system.

i would like LT's but right nwo the wallet isn't thick, and the whole reason behind this is b/c i got a bad cat and wanted to get rid of them completely. along with gaining a few ponies. to answer your question screaminmach. i plan to run with a cut out. so far when i first put them on i will be running with stock catback exhaust, but in a month or so i plan on having flowmaster, or LM catback.
