Yes, TM with a shift kit is a waste, hell without a shift kit it can slow you down.
It amazes me how people do all these mods and only cut back on TM, it's a waste of mods.

Are you talking about abuse mode or torque management? They are different. Torque management limits the torque during the shifts to help the life of the tranny. Abuse mode from what I have read is activated when you foot brake the car to do like a burnout. It puts the tranny and car into limp mode and can severly hinder the launching ability of the car. I disabled my abuse mode and I no longer have this issue.

As far as torque management since you have the stock tranny I would not completely remove TM, just half the values. You can completely remove TM but I doubt your tranny will live long like that.

How do you disable these features?

You need some sort of a tuning system. I think the handhelds might be able to do some of it but not all. To do it all you need something like HPtuners or EFILive. You might also be able to find a shop in your local area that has one of these systems and see how much they would charge you to do it.

Abuse mode is under the TM tab, I consider it TM.

I still wonder why people do all these mods to add power and keep TM to reduce power. TM will pull your timing to where your 600HP LSX delivers damn near zero until it cuts out, whats the point.

Also making no sense...abuse mode is there to protect the trans while doing a burnout (your words) yet you disabled yours and can now do burnouts, BUT you kept some degree of TM.
ANY TM is going to slow you down at some point.
Even a 100% stock car is going to be hit with TM when driven hard, knowing that why bother spending money on and mods?

If you are referring to my actual car I have completely removed TM and abuse mode. I did not keep any degree of TM in my car. I agree with what you said completely, however, I also have a built transmission that should be up to the task of handling the torque. I just suggested that since the OP has a stock transmission he might want to keep some degree of TM just so his transmission doesn't take a poop. I have no personal experience but I have always read that a stock transmission will not hold up to the TM being completely removed.

No, just TM in general. There is a big thread around here somewhere that asks who is running a high stall converter with a stock trans.

A lot of people are and I bet they aren't running TM, they can't be.

I wouldn't remove tq management if I were you. I only removed mine about half way and the trans took a ****. If you do go to do it, lower it just alittle.

How much will you gain at the track and where would you gain time after deleting tq mgmt and abuse mode on the tranny/engine. My tuner just deleted both along with deleting power enrichment delay ? what ever that is. My line pressure got bumped up to 96psi and we moved timing up to 28. I still have the stock tranny with 3400 stall and 400 rwhp. Before that I ran 12.2, 113mph with a 1.79 60ft. I really thought I should run high 11's and was hoping all these changes would do the trick if my tranny holds out.
