GMPP LS6 Engine Swap Notes
I am writing this for anyone that decided to just purchase the GM Performance Parts LS6 405hp Crate Engine, and putting the engine in a F-body.
This engine came complete... absoluting everything is already there... for a CTS-V....
Parts that need swaped
Oil pan
Windage tray
Oil Pickup
Oil Pressure sending Unit
Water Pump
Crank Pulley
Exhaust Manifolds (just get Lt's)
Not sure but did swap Clutch, weird clutch setup on this engine, the flywheel was a 2 part design, it kind of swiveled on itself.
and most importantly... the pilot bearing..
(dont be me thinking it will work and try mating the engine to the tranny for hours and finally figure it out, youll be sooo close but so far lol)
edit: throttle body also
Once all was complete, the engine fired right up and runs great. More to follow once gears are installed and dynoed.
