Default Catalytic converter failure

The warranty from GM is still being honored if you have a cat failure. My SES light came on and the initial codes indicated oxygen sensor but in fact was a failed catalytic converter. The dealership is doing the whole replacement for free. 10 years, 100,000k appears to be the break-off point. Hopefully the warranty will continue if GM has to file for bankruptcy. For once my timing was pretty good.

Yeah 10 yrs/120K for the LS1 00-02 F-cars. Have a couple friends that had theirs replaced a couple years ago. Just out of curosity I'd ask how long they'll warranty the new cat replacement.
