Default Opinions on dumping a catback

I really like the way Camaro's look without exhaust tips. I have the LM I and am wondering your thoughts on dumping it before the axle. Are there any negative sides to doing this? Thanks!

nope just louder, you could always go over the axle and dump it also.

Thanks for the reply...I've been looking at pics of dumped exhaust systems and have noticed most of the turndowns angled (not directly at the ground). I assume this is to avoid having the exhaust resonate directly back up into the car???

agreed, like he said no downside, just no tips comming out the back if you like that, which you said you dont so good. most turn the ends of the pipes down so the actual exhaust stays off the underbody of the car.

^^ I hear you. I understand the reason for the turndowns. Many that I've seen are angled as in the following pic

exactly

so you decided to go with it? I think Camaros can get away with not having tips comming out the back and many look good, but Firebirds look dumb without tips cause there are little slots in the rear bumper for tips to go.

Well, tomorrow I will have a turndown placed behind the LM muffler, right before the axle. I know I will like how it looks; I just hope it doesn't change the sound too much.

i had two 16 inch bullets in line with each other dumped and it was fairly quiet, but that was compared to true duals dumped with bullets. also if you dump it then its a little less weight.
