Self Healing Clear Coat - is it on the market yet?
I'm trying to find out really quick if the self healing (as I guess I would describe it) clear coat is being used on high end Audi's, Mercedes, Bentley's etc yet.
Basically a clear coat when scratched will will open up (or be broken from the scratch) tiny little capsuls that will seep into the scratch and fill it in.
Friend needs some body work to her S8 and I want to make sure the body shop will use the correct matching clearcoat.
Same token, can something like this be applied by hand?
Thanks all with any info!

D8126 CeramiClearTM is a new nano-technology, mar and scratch resistant, high solid clearcoat. This new clear is especially designed for the repair of Mercedes-Benz cars that have an OE finish using PPG CeramiClearTM. D8126’s excellent surface properties minimize the visible marring caused by car washing and polishing.

From everything I could tell on the net looking up, Nissan is using this on their cars. Audi is slated for 2010 but only a couple product lines. We all know how accurate the net is though, heh.
