Default Dupl-Color Spray Paint Questions

I want to paint my valve covers, coil packs, coil brackets and rear diff.

My question what would be a better paint to paint it with?

A) Caliper paint that can with stand 500* temps

B) Engine Enamel paint

Thanks

Caliper paint is a joke, I've done probably about 5cars worth of calipers, front and back with just 99cent walmart paint. They come out fine and theyre hard as a rock in a day. Hell my trans am is done with the 99cent walmart paint and its been on my calipers for almost 2years now, not one chip in the paint. Don't be one of the people who waste money on that stuff. But the engine enamel paint I would suggest would be a good choice for painting the valve overs and coils, etc.

I painted my valve covers with just normal duplicolor and it's still holdning up great. I think I used duplicolor caliper paint for my calipers, not the kit just the aerosol can that says it's for calipers.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok today i went to AutoZone and got the following:

1 - Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter

1 - Dupli-Color Engine Enamel Clear

1 - Dupli-Color Engine Enamel Cast Iron (it is like a pewter, gun metal) - Intake and Valve Covers

1 - Dupli-Color Filler Primer

Now i could not find Dupli-Color Engine Enamel GM Red (coil packs) so i am going to use my caliper paint for that. Will that be ok?

And i am using the Dupli-Color Caliper black paint (brackets)

Engine Enamel>Caliper Paint. I remember trying to do my calipers with caliper paint. And the **** didn't bond for crap... I literally carb cleanered the **** right off... Ran to the store and got some engine enamel. Went on perfect.

there is nothing to do wrong... Prep is key. And i prepped the **** out of it... I removed callipers and hand every bit of dirt and grime off of them. Why is it the engine enamel would stick and caliper paint wouldnt?

Looks good..... Idk why I had a problem with it.... like I said caliper paint didn't on the calipers. But the engine enamel did.... Weird.....

Came out nice! Impressed. I never thought of pulling them to paint.... You may have added a new things to do for me. I still have a lot of painting under the hood since I did my color change.
