Cut the bump stops & BFH to the inner fender well. You may have to roll the renders as well.

What do people use to cut that stuff off? A cutoff wheel or plasma cut. It?

BTW . . . Do not mount the wheel with the axle hanging. If you do that BS mods should not be necessary, althouhg some massaging of the inner wheel well will be needed.

No, you still need the clearance for when the axle articulates.

. . . I installed 17" x 11" on freinds car, and NEVER touched the bumpstop. 50 mm offset ZR1's . . . .

Unless you are doing Dukes of Hazzard jumps the axle will NEVER move that much where the wheel lip would contact the bumpstop . . .

Friends car, not your car, it still doesn't matter, your still wrong. The wheel should never, ever be able to contact any part of the body. That is a fact!

What's your point? Bragging rights?

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason WHAT SO EVER to have to touch the bumpstop installing 17" x 11" 50 mm offset ZR1's.

Why modify something when it does not need to be done?

So the car that I installed the wheels on and has been running for the past nine years with absolutely no issues, is wrong?

Yeah whatever. Lets agree to dissagree on the subject.

The bump stop will sit perfectly within the wheel as long as you install it by jacking up the rear differential.

Bringing this thing up from the dead.

So im currently running the 17x11's with a 50mm offset. I did cut the bump stops off but now i wish i never did. Anyhow without the bump stops my car keeps bottoming, mind you im at stock ride height, when ever i hit a dip in the road or when i have more then one passenger.

When it does bottom out the fenders, which are not rolled, tend to cut into the tires, 315/35/17's. Is there anything i can to to stop it from bottoming out?

Has anyone ever installed the bump stops back on their car after they removed them????

Any info would be great

Im running the same 50mm offset wheels and I only had to BFH a small section of the inner fender and roll the lips.

Do you have an adjustable PHB?

No, im running a fixed panhard bar. Also, i didnt have to bang or modify the inside of the fender wheel area to fit the wheels.

I believe there are bumpstops that can be installed on the shock shaft to avoid this issue . .

Thanks for that 2nd link. I just cut my bump stops off and was trying to think of a different way to re-mount them.
