Default car won't start after header install

i just finished putting on lt's, put in new plugs as well. reconected everything, charged the battery (and had it connected to the trickle charger when cranking it), car sputtered a few times the made a grinding noise, so i removed the starter and the part that slides inton the bell housing snapped in HALF! i removed the broken piece from the bellhousing, car gets spark and fuel. whats going on?

what did you take apart for the install, did you take the starter off? Did you remove or unplug the coil packs?

sounds like your not getting a good enough ground from the starter and it wont crank the motor over, the part you snapped was prolly a needed part to get a good ground.

Why did you pull the starter and the coil packs to put headers on. you probably need a new starter if anything broke off it.

Did you pull the the plugs and make sure you did not crack one putting them in are they all the way in, are they gapped correctly, are the plug wires on correctly, not being a dick just things I would check. sounds like your not getting spark.

sounds fuel related to me, you may have kinked something installing the headers. I would jack it up and check the lines under the car to see if any fuel lines are pinched.
