Take timing out for a cam ?????
I had my dyno tuned and it made less hp than i was hoping.I was going over my file a notice i have 2degrees less timing in my motor so now i'm at 26 degrees. Is this normal i was thinking more timing. My compression is about 10.8.1 not alot to worry about a ping and i have a g5x2 cam with stock cubes. I was thinking i should have about 29 degrees.

In most cases an aftermarket cam will have more valve overlap than the stock one did, so the engine will develop less static cylinder presure. For this reason I believe you should be running more timing advance rather than less. Take it back to the tunner and have them fix it.

Re: Take timing out for a cam ?????
I got my timing tables from mark at ragingmotorsports he is baling me out. I am running his heads and cam and his timing table looks a hell of alot better.I will be going back to the track this weekend to see what happens. my car only dyno 401hp i thought that was low.
