Default 09 LS7 cam install question

Hello, I have a question, Im installing a new cam in the new 09 crate ls7 and Ive got to the point where I rotated the old camshaft to seat the lifters in the retainers to pull out the cam. They all seemed to have clicked in, since I can see all the push rods are at the same height. Problem is the cam will only slide out 1/4 inch and it sounds like its hitting something towards the back of the motor preventing the cam from sliding out. Any suggestions, am I missing something?

Thanks Rich

if the engine is on a engine stand flip the engine upside down then spin the cam so the lifters will stay out of the way, slide your old cam out then slide the new cam in and rotate the engine back right side up

also if you are replacing the cam you should not have pushrods in the engine while removing the cam
