Default SS4000 results are in

Well Guys finally made it to the track with the new yank SS4000 installed. That was the only change I made, I am still rocking the 3.23 gears and manifolds. Da was comparable to last year when I ran. My previous best was a 13.14 @ 105.4mph with a 2.045 60' @ 2400 DA. Last night I hit a 12.32 @ 107.2 with a 1.60 60' @ 2100 DA. Around a .8 tenth reduction. So thanks you guys you were spot on on the gains. That yank is amazing. And on another note there were a lot of fbodys out there that had the same mods with different converters, so it was nice to see the differences. One was a circle D but he had street tires so it was a smoke show. All the others had slicks and it went like this, Vig 3500, PT4000, and a tci 3600, I smoked the vig by .6-.7 tenths 1/4. Tci was a joke I think it was slower then the stock stall. And the pt4000 I smoked by around .3-.4 tenths and his best 60' was a 1.72 and that was with 3.73 and a cam. So the SS4000 deff rocks. I just want to put out a huge thanks to Dave at yank for all the help and never steering me wrong on the gains. More times to come on a better prepped track. Later

im pissed, but congrats man. i have the same stall and 3.90s and went from 12.74@109 with the gears too 12.51@107 with the stall. now these were too different tracks and my trans is on its way out and i just ordered an flt lvl 4 trans cause .2 tenths doesnt seem accurate to me, i was lookin for 12.1-12.2. good job man.

different cars and set ups, tunes, etc. too many variables to make a direct comparison especially to a PT4000? by the way what was your 1/8 mile times? but congrats nonetheless it always make you feel like money well spent when you drop that much ET from a pricey mod!

PT4000? we are both running an SS4000. Anyway, you are right, i always tell myself those types of things, but you cant help but be disapointed. ill be bottom of 12s though, when i do the trans and tune it.

Very strong et and 60 for your mods. I have LT's and would be in the mid 12.60's at a 2100 DA.

I saw close to a .8 gain with my TCI 3000 after getting MT DR's on it. I've been disappointed by no gains beyond the TCI with my Yank SS3600.

So how does that converter feel on the street? loose or tight ?Our cars are the same except for the SS4000 So W/ that converter i should run 12.00 w/ manifold's and cat's.That seem's to good to be true.

It's pretty tight. Rolls through intersections at 2000-2500 rpm, not to bad. I don't have cats, and I have a cutout. But yes I still have manifolds. And yes at a better DA you will run low 12's. I didn't think I would run a 12.3 at 2100 DA but i did. I ran like 15 times and they were all 12.3-12.45 and 2 12.50's spinning. Makes these cars a different animal. They took a pic of the car lauching and there is daylight under the front left tire. So it does pull the tire a little. So hold on for the ride.

What were your 1/8th mile times before and after?? I would like to see how much you gained( I race on 1/8th mile tracks). I've thinking about installing a SS3600, but I might go for the SS4000.

Nice times! I just ran my PT4000 for the first time last night, it knocked off a full 1.1 seconds from my time with the addition of DRs. From a 13.0 on the stock converter to an 11.968 w/1.65 60'. I'm getting ready to post the results as soon as I find the 13.0 slip from last fall.

My 1/8 mile times before the stall were 8.5-8.6 @ 84.5. I gained around .7-.8 so it was a good improvement
