Question About Intake and Valve Cover Gaskets
Today i jsut pulled my valve covers off b/c i am going to be painting them. And next weekend, same thing i am pulling my intake off to paint that too. My question is do i need to replace the gaskets for the valve covers and intake?
If i am not mistaken, the valve cover gasket is an o-ring type gasket and you do not need to replace those? Also the gasket stuck to the valve cover now, i am going to pull it off, when i put it back on do i put some silicone down to make it stick? If i do, what type of silicone do i use?
And i will prolly replace the intake gasket, b/c if i am not mistaken once it is crushed, you can not reuse it? Other wise you will prolly get a CEL and be running lean b/c of a vacuum leak?
Thanks

you can reuse valve cover gaskets if your careful. I wouldnt reuse intake gaskets though, might get a leak, I wouldnt reuse them at all. Even when I do my camswap Im not even reusing the valve cover gaskets Im just replacing them.
