Default Looks like I'm keeping it, so I did some mods...and I have CAM question

Ok, so looks like I'm going to keep the car. All the options I look at to replace it with just really don't justify me losing about 10k by trading this car in so I'm going to suck it up and keep it.

So I put my HID's back in, so much nicer to be able to see at night and I put my front/rear STB's back on, I don't really notice a difference with these but makes me happier that they are in there, lol

As for a cam, does anyone have the specs of the stock LS4 cam?

I used to have it. I know its like in the high .4s. thats why the ls6 one with .525 is a slight upgrade.

If you could find it that would be great. I'm thinking LS6 because of the price and also I hear it's good with boost when I put a turbo kit back on.

But the LS7 or LS9 cams are pretty cheap even direct from GM so those might be worth it too which is why it would be great to compare.

The LS6 Cam changed (Lowered) the amount of torque down low, but gave back performance up top.

However with any cam upgrade the car needs to breath and exhale better/more efficiently....so no large increases without the supporting mods...

The only way I could justify all that work is a a no gain down low with a gain up top or or a gain on both ends... But trading power in the powerband is worth it?..?

I'm not too worried about the turbo, when we put one back on it will be a race version of the kit so it will be good

Really? What differentiates the race kit from the normal one? Extremely curious...

I was looking at the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam. I think certain year ls6 cams are almost identical. What size turbo you plan on running next time? I am contemplating going bigger after the trans is done.

I had NO issues with the kit at all, for me, I got rid of it because I was going to sell the car. but also thinking even if I kept the car I would want to go bigger.

At 500whp on a FWD, it gets a bit much so for most people the kit is great I mean, these are top notch parts.

I would be looking at 6-700whp which is a HUGE jump, so need bigger turbo, bigger piping, bigger fuel system etc. etc. etc. This likely won't happen until next winter/spring since I have to pay for a wedding this year, but I'll be getting her ready for it

When you compare the cost of this turbo kit to what you get for other LSx cars, it's a good price since it has EVERYTHING. Some of the kits out there for the others cars have no fuel system, no cutout, just the basic kit and they are $$$$$. Not to mention it's not like 100 people at a time are buying a LS4 kit. not right now anyways.

So, I e-mail comp cams to see if they had stock specs for the LS4 cam.....still no reply

Were the turbos just basic bearing settup for turbos. Think its called the cartridge bearing. Were they water cooled?

Has anyone thought about degreeing this installation? With lets say -2 degrees would it not bring back the bottom end and still give all the mid range and a little more at the top.
