Default Lid conversion under aftermarket SS hood?

Im looking into the LS1 lid conversion but I was wondering if the LS1 raditor support will work under a hacked up aftermarket hood? I really don't care about hacking up the hood since its a pin on and I've already cut it up. I've heard that there are shorter lids that can be used which might fit a little better. I just don't want to go through the hassle of making my own rad. support, plus the stock one looks much cleaner IMO.

Does a stock LS1 radiator support and lid fit under a hacked up aftermarket SS hood?

Thanks!

No, there is not enough room under that hood.

the lid with support is roughly 2" taller than the hood. ask the MERV he has pics where he cut the hood, the lid stuck out of his hood a good 2"

I've looked at merv's thread but for some reason some of the pics show just a red X. I searched all night and wasnt able to find that particular pic with the lid out the hood. My intake setup is pretty good but Id like the lid setup. Guess I'll keep searching for that thread.

x2 it won't work, I have a LT1 with a "big block" hood that is very similar to the SS in the front and even when I cut out the inside support and trimmed the LS1 lower box as much as possible it still didn't come close to closing, only hoods I've seen working are SLP's ultra z or a 4" cowl hood from Glasteck?
