help put mirror back on the base on windshield

Default help put mirror back on the base on windshield

so i installed some led map lights in my rear view mirror and now i cant get the clamp to go back on. if someone can put some insight towards this, it would be greatly appreciated. and yes i tried to search but the search bar has been crap lately. thanks in advance.

As long as the "button" is still on the windshield, it's a simple matter of sliding on the mirror mount and pressing firmly to seat it. The manual says "20 pounds" of force is necessary to make it click into place - it seems like a lot more when you're pushing from the driver's seat but it will eventually click into place.
