Default Perfect Backspacing

Hey guys

What is the PERFECT backspacing and offset for a 11" wheel on the back of a camaro.

Im not talking about best of whats available, Im talking if you where building a ground up wheel, what would be the best offset on a stock 10 bolt rear and Camaro Fenders.

Also can anyone tell me the backspacing and offset of the c5 Corvette Magnesium wheels the ones made in Italy by speedline.

Thanks
All help is greatly appreciated

I want to say my ZR1 wheels are 50mm in the rear.

this is a 15 x 10, with a 7.5 inch backspace

for an 11 inch wide wheel it would be 8.5 inch backspace to achieve the same look, but setting that extra inch on the inside, instead of sticking it out.

Okay Ill let you in on my condition. I want some pimp *** wheels. Dont have a ton of money for the fikse and CCWs. But I have the hookup on refinishing, getting OEM wheels and widening.

So Im thinking get 4 of the 17x9.5s Mag speedlines that came on the c5 vettes.

having them refinished in Bronze and have the rears widened to 17x11s and run some 315s out back and voila wheels that noone has and I love the way they look, plus they are pretty lightweight.

And tires are still cheap.

On a side note I really wish invos came in the right 17" sizes.

in my opinion the 50mm is the best, i've had a few sets of wheels now, 56mm 58mm and 2x50mm and to me it feels like the car drives much better w/50mm,

i would explain better, but dont know how to, getting kinda rusted on my english

don't go more than 8" backspacing and you will be ok
also be careful with Magnesium not sure if it's really that strong
and how it will take to being welded on.

FYI people Offset and Backspacing are completely different numbers, albeit related. One cannot be determined directly from the other, although one can take close SWAG at it . . .

As for what is "PERFECT" . . . well that opinion differs from many. It would all depend on the way you like the wheel to sit in the wheel well . . . some like it to stick out a tad . . . some like it flush . . . and some like it tucked in . . .

IMHO . . 11" wheels are tough to fit.

But my mathmatical calcs, tell me the ideal offset would be around 45 mm and the backspace around 7.75" . . .

What you are talking about doing is going to cost you more in the long run than just picking up a set of ZR1's, TTII's, or something similar. And, you are not going to be able to achieve the proper offset by widening a wheel. You are going to have to run a spacer and more than likely a 315 with rub the fender.

The only way to get the correct offset would be to add material to the outside lip of the wheel, which no company will do.
