Default Is 0.06" gap ok?

I Just changed sparkplugs and totally forgot to gap them! They are tr55ix, pre-gapped at 0.06". I can take them out and re-gap them if its really necessary, they are just threaded in (but I dont want to ). Its a baby-cam-only car with boltons that needs to pass emission.

Thanks

I am running TR55's out of the box with no issues. But I though they were pre-gapped at .55?

Maybe thats the regular TR55? I have the IX ones and NGK says 0.06 on their website..

Im just wondering what the difference will be from 0.06 to 0.05, not that much I guess. Smoother running, better MPG, emissions? Trying to find out if its worth it or not but I will probably leave them as is.

as long as you have a strong enough spark to cross the gap at .060 then you should be fine. If you are not misfiring then I wouldn't worry too much about it. If I understand correctly (I may be wrong) the wider the gap the better the combustion of the gas but too much gap then it might not ignite the fuel

You should always check the gap on spark plugs before install. The pre-gapped value could change during shipping. It should be verified as a matter of course, anyway. I also would not go over the stock .050 gap.

Yea I tock them all out and set them to 0.05. They are going back in tomorrow. All of them were in the 0.06 area give or take 0.002.
