Well yes I was in the future but with little cash that isnt happening....lol
So I took the Royal Purple out today and put in Castrol 10-40 drove it less around base a little no change. After I got off work I took a spirited drive to the GM dealership to get there opinion and guess what that SOB barely makes any noise drive it all the way back to base with no noise until I go to park and there it is making the same noise agian.
Why is it changing sounds like that?

Lifter tick is pretty normal,
Loads of people worry about it when most of the time it's just "normal" mechanical noise. An allalloy engine will transmit more mechanical sounds coming from the inside of the engine than an iron block or all iron engine will.
It'll be even more apparent with tubular steel headers fitted, as the cast iron ones also absorb sound well.
You could try the 10W60 from Castrol if you can find it, that normally does a really good job. But you'll never completely silence a 300+hp all-alloy pushrod engine when it's alive.

I was wondering the same thing with my car. It does tick a little, but only when it's first started up, and nothing after that.
Hopefully you get it all figured out, but I'd be willing to go with Sid on this one...hell, my dads 97 F250 ticks all the time (granted its OHC), but I wouldn't worry to much...but then again what do I know?

My car sounds similar to yours but on mine the sound doesn't get louder with increased RPM. Does your oil pressure gauge fluctuate a little at idle? On my car it fluctuates and I am begining to think that the sound maybe related to the oil pump but I am not a mechanic.

I am taking my car to the stealership and have them take a look at mine. I can't stand the rattle noise. My car has 53k, auto, and is completely stock. Yes, I have been known to beat on it from time to time but not every day.
