Default TR55 vs. TR5s gaps?

I found that the TR55s are gapped at .050 and the TR5 are gapped at .040 (according to some parts books). Actual gapping varies, I understand.

Question: for a ram air / improved cam LT1 motor, would the TR55 work the same as the TR5s? Advance Auto parts list the TR5s, but not the TR55s for 97 T/As.

comments? What is the purpose of the smaller gap? I would figure a smalller gap is for higher compression motors, but will it be OK in the stock compression motor? thanks

Those two plugs are 100% identical in every way. Only difference in the two are that they come from the manufacturer gapped differently.

Get either one and gap them how you want them gapped.

If you're stock or close to stock I think .055 gap is best for you, but .050 will be fine too.

You know what stinks? NO one around here has TR55s. They just don't.

Dude, it does not stink. The TR5's are the same plug as the TR55. I've been buying TR55's for years and I couldn't find them here either a couple months ago. I bought the TR5's and gapped them to what I wanted.

They are identical plugs. Same price too. I paid just under 17.00 for all 8 plugs at Advance Auto.
